Professional Training & Workshop

BWIC provides professional training on Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) or domestic violence and sexual assault to social services providers, health care providers, the clergy, law enforcement, human resources professionals, child care workers and others.

Training topics include but are not limited to:

  • Teen Dating Violence/“In Their Shoes” interactive program
  • Latina Realities –the unique challenges faced by Latina victims of IPV
  • Introduction to IPV & Impact on Public Health
  • Screening, Intervention & Referral Strategies for Healthcare Providers
  • Cyber-Safety: Technology and IPV
  • Abuse of Older Persons
  • “Isms” – diversity and social justice issues
  • Mandated Reporting of Child Abuse
  • Introduction to Human Trafficking
  • Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking
  • Prevention of Intimate Partner Violence

Training sessions are interactive, and can be of any length, 30 minutes and longer
