After reviewing your application, Berks Women in Crisis will contact you to discuss your options.

There are many volunteer opportunities available at Berks Women in Crisis. Volunteers who work directly with clients must complete an extensive 66-Hour educational seminar over an 11-week period. There are many volunteer opportunities that do NOT require this training; however, all volunteers must obtain criminal background checks and child abuse clearances at no cost to the volunteer.

Volunteers do not need the 66-Hour training for any of the following tasks:

  • Special Events, including fundraisers
  • Participating in public awareness events
  • Helping to set up awareness displays
  • Yard & garden work at our Center
  • Assisting at volunteer and health fairs
  • Assisting staff & trained volunteers with children’s activities in the Safe House
  • Donation pick-up
  • Office help and bulk mailings
  • Collecting used cell phones
  • Cooking or bringing in a meal for Safe House residents (up to 50 people)
